{"id":146,"date":"2020-06-05T01:49:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-05T01:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/earlharris.src.co.ve\/?p=146"},"modified":"2022-05-23T17:11:12","modified_gmt":"2022-05-23T17:11:12","slug":"iblc-issues-action-points-in-working-toward-justice-reform-across-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/earlharrisjr.us\/?p=146","title":{"rendered":"IBLC issues action points in working toward justice reform across state"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>INDIANAPOLIS &#8211; Members of the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus (IBLC)&nbsp;held a&nbsp;news conference&nbsp;[<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/inhousedems\/videos\/273300080693005\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">view&nbsp;in Facebook<\/a>] today on the steps of the Statehouse to share a set of \u201caction points\u201d that represent a few of the justice reform initiatives they&nbsp;will pursue over the coming weeks and months [the list of justice reform action points can be found below or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/assets.indianahousedemocrats.org\/members\/Publications\/iblc20200605justice_reform_action_steps.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">online<\/a>].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou will note that many of the justice reforms we will pursue call for legislative action at the Statehouse,\u201d Shackleford said. \u201cAs the Indiana Black&nbsp;<em>Legislative<\/em>&nbsp;Caucus, these are the particular reforms with which we will concern ourselves once the Indiana General Assembly meets to organize in mid-November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOther action points we shared today are efforts that can be pursued immediately by state or local officials across Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs I mentioned during today&#8217;s news conference, we will address the specifics of these justice reforms during the IBLC&#8217;s upcoming virtual town halls on June 11 and 25.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Details of the IBLC virtual town halls can be found in this <a href=\"https:\/\/indianahousedemocrats.org\/news-media\/register-for-an-iblc-virtual-town-hall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/earlharris.src.co.ve\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/iblc20200605_justice_reform_action_steps.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-148\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus (IBLC) held a news conference&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":696,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-146","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-legislative-work"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.8 -
